ABOUT
In 2020, Baobab Brands began hosting an Annual Add Hope Golf Day in support of its KFC Beneficiaries, to see them through the year. Instigated by the economic downturn in 2019 due to the Worldwide Pandemic, the initiative’s success soon became a strategic objective within the business to bring like-minded people together for a day on the green, in service of a worthy cause.
“The Add Hope aspect of our KFC Franchisee business is an important measure of our success year on year. For Baobab it allows us to play a role in SA, supporting those less fortunate, and we take that privilege very seriously.” Grant Wheatley, CEO.
This year marks the company’s 3rd Annual Add Hope Golf Day at the East London Golf Club and for this one Baobab Brands has elected to share all donations received between 2 of its Beneficiaries, namely: Masizakhe CYCC & The Greensleeves Trust.
WHY KFC ADD HOPE
KFC’s Add Hope initiative has been in existence since 2009 and has a total of 134 Beneficiaries Nationwide. Since its inception the programme has raised more than R905million, with KFC itself donating over R336million of this. This is monumental.

“We have seen first-hand how adding just R2 to a KFC order can make such a difference in the lives of children – that small change, is literally changing lives.” Grant Wheatley.
